Full Description

From Hurghada to the heart of ancient Egypt

A long but rewarding cultural day combining the monumental East Bank with the royal necropolis of Luxor's West Bank.

Your day begins with an early pickup from the selected Hurghada hotel. Travel through the Eastern Desert in an air-conditioned vehicle, with a short rest stop normally scheduled during the journey. Shared small-group and private arrangements can be requested.

In Luxor, meet or continue with a professional Egyptologist guide and explore the Karnak Temple complex. Walk among monumental gateways, obelisks, sanctuaries and the famous Great Hypostyle Hall before taking a lunch break at a local restaurant.

Continue to the West Bank to discover the Valley of the Kings, the royal burial ground of New Kingdom rulers. A standard admission package commonly includes entry to three currently open tombs. Tutankhamun's Tomb and the Tomb of Ramses V and VI require separate or upgraded tickets unless explicitly selected.

Visit the terraced Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari and stop beside the Colossi of Memnon. Some confirmed programs also include a short Nile crossing or an outside photo stop at Luxor Temple. The exact order, tomb selection and optional additions can change according to the chosen package and local operation.

FAQ

Luxor day-trip questions

Most current marketplace programs list approximately 14–16 hours. The exact duration depends on your hotel, pickup route, traffic, rest stops and the selected itinerary.

The standard route usually includes Karnak Temple, the Valley of the Kings, the Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon, followed by the return to Hurghada.

They are included only in the confirmed all-inclusive option. Some market listings sell a transport-and-guide option with entrance tickets added separately, so your final confirmation will state exactly what is covered.

A standard Valley of the Kings ticket commonly covers three currently open tombs. The available tombs rotate, and special tombs require separate tickets.

Not automatically. It requires a separate or upgraded ticket unless the final confirmation specifically includes the Tomb of Tutankhamun.

Some programs include a short ferry, motorboat or felucca crossing, while others use road transport between the banks. It is included only when stated in your confirmed package.

A local restaurant lunch is normally included in the complete option. Drinks at the restaurant are usually paid separately unless confirmed otherwise.

Pickup is normally very early in the morning. The exact time is sent after the hotel route is organized, commonly one day before the excursion.

Yes. Private vehicle and customized Luxor options can be requested, including a different pace, upgraded tomb tickets and additional monuments when time permits.

Families can join, but it is a long and hot day with significant walking. Tombs and archaeological areas may include steps, slopes and uneven surfaces, so mobility and health requirements should be discussed before booking.
